Guest post by Joan Siefert Rose, President, CED
For the first time in our 28 year history, the CED Venture Conference is an "all things tech" event. As the Southeast's technology sector continues to grow at a rapid pace, we are thrilled to be able to dedicate this event to the region's most dynamic entrepreneurs. As part of the new tech focus, this year's conference will feature Idea Islands in four of the hottest technology sectors: business analytics, cloud computing, digital media/communications and healthcare IT. Each Idea Island will include a presentation from an industry leader followed by an interactive dialogue with leading entrepreneurs in that sector.
Following along the theme, the Demo Room will feature as many as 75 of the region's most promising and innovative start-up technology companies. It will also include showcases from early stage companies that are a part of LaunchBox Digital, Joystick Labs and local universities.
With most of our entrepreneurs now taking advantage of social media platforms, we thought it only fitting to include a Twitter component to this year's event. Running through April 26, 2011, the most creative tweet on why to attend the 2011 conference will win a free pass to it and lunch at the VIP table with Steve Hannah, president and CEO, of The Onion. Please use the hashtag #whyCEDVenture to submit your tweet. The winner will be announced at the event.
Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at this year's conference.
