If you are in the Triad here in NC and want to present your company in a very open format (to me and in front of your peers), here is an opportunity to get some quick feedback.
Any entrepreneur working on a software, digital media or e-commerce company can come on Friday, April 16 to the Nussbaum Center in Greensboro and present your company for 10 minutes. We'll save 5 minutes for Q&A/feedback at the end of each presentation. After all the presentations are over, I will open it up to general startup and venture capital questions that anyone may have. This is for entrepreneurs only! No service providers, please.
This is a different format for Calling All Entrepreneurs that what we've typically held in the past. Usually our events like this have each company come in behind closed doors. But Sam Funchess, president at the Nussbaum Center recommended we keep it more open when I did this last year at the Nussbaum Center. It worked really well! I think it helped entreprenurs learn from each other (both from the presentations and from the feedback). So, since I am doing this again at the Nussbaum Center, let's keep the same format.
If you want to reserve a spot to present and can come from 12-2 that day, email me and I will coordinate with the folks at the Nussbaum Center. We'll probably have to cap it at some point, so let me know asap if you'd like to participate.
And if you haven't been to the Nussbaum Center, this is a great opportunity to check it out. I love the character of the older mill building with original hardwood floors and big windows. Most importantly, I have found Sam to be really supportive of the tech community and when we invested in Batanga, they were in that building.
If you have any questions about this event or about format, etc., just email me - jason AT southcap.com. I am really looking forward to it.
UPDATE: The Nussbaum Center put out this press release about the event and to make things a lot easier, you can register here.
